Abundance Blessing - The Medium of Water at Tirtha Empul Holy Spring Temple.
Tirtha Empul Temple is a Kahyangan Jagat (Universal Place) for all humans, irrespective of ethnicity, culture, class, religion, or belief. This temple is a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site.
According to the PRASASTI SAKENAN (historical inscription) from Desa Adat Manukaya Let, the Holy Spring of Tirtha Empul originates from the 1,100 mountain centers created by DEWA INDRA (Hindu God) in 177 Caka (255 AD). The holy pool area, featuring 33 TIRTHA PANCORAN (Holy Fountain showers) and divided into 4 pool areas, was built by King Candra Baya Singha Warmadewa in 884 Caka (962 AD). This temple is dedicated to worshiping God Indra and honoring God Vishnu (Hindu God of Water).
Each Pancoran Tirtha (holy fountain shower) has a unique meaning and function, used for Balinese Hindu ceremonies and spiritual blessing rituals.
Melukatmala combines the terms Melukat and Mala. Melukat means Spiritual Cleansing, while Mala refers to negative human elements such as thoughts, words, and deeds. Melukatmala represents a real activity for self-introspection and healing.
Melukatmala is a concept from the Balinese Hindu tradition, which believes that water (Tirtha) is a source of blessing.
Using sacred ritual facilities and local guidelines (Awig-Awig Desa Adat Manukaya Let), join us to experience the Melukatmala ritual ceremony at Tirtha Empul Temple with local guide guardians of the temple.
